The E.C.I.C. provides preschool classes to children with special needs as well as children without special needs. We invite children with no developmental delays to act as models for language and play while partaking in a typical preschool environment. Classes are taught by special education teachers and meet from 9:00-11:30 or 12:30 -3:00. We believe children learn best through play in a natural child-friendly environment. Within this type of setting we work to build children's language skills, personal/social development, fine and gross motor skills, and play skills. Academic /readiness skills are introduced throughout the curriculum. We follow the State of Connecticut Preschool Curricular Goals and Benchmarks.
