Illness/Injury Policy
A student who becomes ill while at school is expected to be taken home by his/her parent or parent delegate. Schools have no facilities for sick children.
Keep your child home for at least 24 hours after his/her temperature has returned to normal. A temperature of 100 degrees or above is considered elevated.
Keep your child home for at least 24 hours after the last episode of vomiting or diarrhea. A child’s appetite and energy level should have returned to normal before the child is allowed to return to school.
For serious injuries that occur at home, notify your school nurse and provide a physician’s note with diagnosis and prescription for activity when your child returns to school. A physician’s note is needed whenever a child requires splints, casts, walkers, crutches, wheelchairs or other physical-aid equipment.
For serious illnesses, or for conditions or surgery that have required hospitalization, notify your school nurse and provide a physician’s note with diagnosis and prescription for activity when your child returns to school.
