CAREER DAY – AN ANNUAL FALL EVENT AT MASUK
Career Day is held at Masuk High School on an annual basis, usually being scheduled in mid-November of each year. Over 700 students from all grade levels attend the morning program. Students attend according to scheduled classes; if a student is not in one of those classes, they may pick up an individual pass from the Guidance Office and have it approved by one of their teachers. More than fifty career fields are usually represented, including those that can be entered immediately after high school graduation all the way to those careers requiring graduate school education. The represented careers are grouped in the following Career Clusters as defined by the State Departments of Labor and Education:
ARTS AND MEDIA
BUSINESS AND FINANCE
CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGIES AND DESIGN
ENVIRONMENTAL, NATURAL RESOURCES, AND AGRICULTURE
GOVERNMENT, EDUCATION AND HUMAN SERVICES
HEALTH AND BIOSCIENCES
RETAIL, TOURISM, RECREATION, AND ENTREPRENEURIAL
TECHNOLOGIES: MANUFACTURING, COMMUNICATIONS AND REPAIR
Presenters include parents of Masuk students and local employers. These men and women volunteer to represent their career for three hours during Career Day.
