 Extra Help Days

The Emerald teachers will be available for extra help or review of material covered in class on an as needed basis.  Also, if a student misses school for a number of days, work can be made up during this time.  Extra help sessions are scheduled each week beginning in October.  A note from home is needed, stating that the student will be staying after school and what arrangements have been made for your child to get home.  If a student is staying after school for a homework priority, he/she will stay with the Emerald teacher scheduled for that particular day.

The late buses run on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.

 Homework

Homework will be given on a regular basis.  Generally, homework will not be assigned over the weekend unless it consists of working on a larger project that requires a great deal of time to prepare.  Students are expected to give their best effort when completing their homework.  Assignments should be neat and done carefully.

Homework will be graded with a check if it is of satisfactory quality.  An assignment that is not turned in, not done completely, or one that is of extremely poor quality will receive a zero.  If a zero is given, a homework notice will be sent home with the student to notify you.  This notice is to be signed by you and returned to school the next day with the missed homework assignment.

If the assignment is completed and handed in the next day, the student will lose one-half a point from the quarterly grade.  Students will receive a homework priority for any assignment if the work is not completed within 24 hours and will lose one point from the quarterly grade.  A homework priority means he/she must remain after school with one of the Venture teachers to make up the missed assignment.  A student who completes homework responsibly and with care will encounter much less difficulty preparing for tests and quizzes than a student who prepares assignments with little thought or detail.
