Dismissal Procedure



Except in unusual circumstances, all children should ride the school bus to and from school. The following are the procedures to be followed in order to make our dismissal system work smoothly and safety:

1.Students whose parents or legal guardians wish to have their children dismissed early or at dismissal time from school need to submit a signed note, properly dated, giving the reason for early dismissal and specifying the time that the student is to be dismissed and by whom he or she will be picked up. This note should be presented to the teacher at the start of the school day.

2.If picking up before dismissal, upon arrival at Fawn Hollow, please report to the office to sign out the child and then wait and greet your child there.

3.Once dismissal begins, any parent arriving at school to pick up a child without a prior note will have to add the child’s name to the dismissal list for the close of school at 3:20 and then proceed to the Gym to meet the child.

4.If a child is being picked up at dismissal time, their parent should arrive at school by 3:20 pm. Parents are to wait in the Gym in designated lines. When the children arrive, they must meet their parents and remain with them through the sign-out. In the interest of safety, children are not allowed to roam or play in the gym. Parent and child must not leave the building until the parent has signed out the child with the person on duty in the gym. If for some reason a child is not signed out we contact the parent.

5.Parent and children are to exit the gym doors immediatly.

6.In the event that you are late in picking up your child, the YMCA After-School program will supervise your child from 3:30 pm until he/she is picked up. You will be charged a prorated fee of $10 and hour with a minimum charge of $2.50 for the first fifteen minutes.

Please be patient. These precautions are time consuming, but they are in place to protect the safety of all our children. Everyone is to follow these procedures – there are no exceptions. Please allow ample time to pick up your child. Thank you.
