What is the difference?
(We’ve all been confused!)

·  Folk Tale
Story that is passed down orally from generation to generation

· Folklore
Stories, customs and beliefs of ordinary people from a specific location or place that are passed down to their children.

·  Fairy Tale
A children’s story about magic, fairies, giants, witches, etc.

· Fable
A story that teaches a lesson. Fables often have animal characters that talk and act like people. 

· Tall Tale
Hard to believe story with an exaggerated storyline.
