Convocation is always a highlight to the start of school and this year’s festivities did not disappoint. Seeing members of the Class of 2026 walk down the aisles with our newest students (Class of 2038!) reminds all staff members why we love this profession so much. We honored Paraeducator of the Year Karen Gibbons and Teacher of the Year Mike Ances (who turned the Masuk auditorium into a rousing kazoo orchestra) for the tremendous work they have accomplished for all our students. Superintendent Joe Kobza addressed the crowd and reminded us that teaching our students independence and resilience remains one of our most important jobs. After the ceremony, teachers returned to their schools for two days of professional learning and classroom preparation.
