Curriculum and Instruction
Curriculum and Instruction
The instructional team works with principals and teachers to guide district-wide work on the development, implementation, and improvement of curriculum, instruction, assessment, and professional development. We ensure that instruction is engaging, rigorous, relevant, and inquiry based while meeting the needs of the 21st century learner.
The Monroe Public Schools are committed to a comprehensive process of curriculum planning and assessment. Our Curriculum Council meets monthly to review new curriculum proposals, assess current curricula, and guide curriculum and instructional improvements for the district.
Monroe’s Curriculum maps include the scope and sequence of content, concepts, and skills taught in a particular discipline, resources, enduring understandings, focus questions, and also identify any Vision of the Graduate assessment experiences that may exist for a given unit.
The Monroe Curriculum Mapping initiative is an on-going process, with district leadership making adjustments to content as it best serves our students.
If you have any questions about the curriculum please feel free to contact Mike Crowley (mcrowley@monroeps.org) or any of the specific instructional leaders listed below.
